following are some general watering guidelines for your newly planted tree
If temperatures are:
Between 90 -100 degrees water slowly everyday
Between 85 - 90 degrees water 4 days a week
Between 70 – 85 degrees water 4 days a week
Between 50 – 70 degrees water 2 days a week
50 degrees or below water once a week
Amount of water according to the size of your tree:
15 gallon tree 5 gallons per watering
30 gallon tree 7 gallons per watering
45 gallon tree 10 gallons per watering
65 gallon tree 12 gallons per watering
100 gallon tree 18 gallons per watering
200 gallon tree 25 gallons per watering
General rule of thumb:
Stick a pointed dowel rod in the
ground near your trees root mass, if it comes out clean you need to water.
Adjust your watering according to the weather.
